Word Analogy - Tool and Action
Tool and Action : We use this relation When one word of the pair represents the tool and the other word of the pair gives its function/action, then it is called tool and action relationship. Example: Needle : Sew. We know that A needle is used for sewing. Some more examples are given below :
Example 1: Scissors : Lever : : Toothed wheel : ?
(a) Wedge (b) Gear (c) Press (d) Pulley
Solution: (b) Second denotes the class of machines to which the first belongs.
Example 2: King : Throne : : Rider : ?
(a) Seat (b) Horse (c) Saddle (d) Chair
Solution: (c) A king sits on a throne and a rider on a saddle.
